FAYETTEVILLE, NC -"Project: Coat Check" is under way to secure new or gently used coats, jackets
and other warm items for the needy and homeless.
"This cause is simply
about our responsibility to care for those in need and to make sure our
neighbors stay warm, especially through what has been a brutally cold winter,"
Hampton Rutledge, the project's coordinator and an agent with the Harnett County
office of ERA Strother Real Estate, said in a news release.
The effort
is being spearheaded by ERA Strother Real Estate and M.A.D.
Moving.
Hats, scarves, gloves and blankets will be accepted. Donations
may be dropped off during business hours at ERA Strother Real Estate offices in
Harnett County and Fayetteville, and at M.A.D. Moving in
Fayetteville.
Deadline is Jan. 31.
